Color Coach Creations Idea Share-Bravo Burgundy

Hi Stampeders,

This is a fun treat box to use for those fun campfire moments!

The completed treat box measures  4″ x 4″ and is approximately 1-1/4″ high.  Just sooooo cute!

Want a chance to win a free Color Coach?  All you need to do is leave a comment on any of the four weekly Color Coach Creations Idea-Share posts ONLY for the month of July 2010 (posts on the 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st).   I will have my hubby pick one name “out of a hat” (like the old days) from all the comments left on August 1, 2010.

The color combination from the Color Coach today is Bravo Burgundy.  It’s a wonderful earthy brick-red color and pairs beautifully Baja Breeze and River Rock.

Below are the instructions for how I made this box:

Step 1. Cut a piece of Bravo Burgundy plain stock 6″ x 6″.  Score around all four sides at 1″.  Cut 4 slits on the score lines as shown below.

Step 2.  Use the bone folder and fold up on all four sides.

Step 3. Add SNAIL adhesive on the four flaps on the “right side” (side that will show when the box is completed).  Press to adhere all four corners.

Your finished box bottom should look like this!

Step 4.  Use Gold Glow Smooch Spritz to add a fun splatter look to the bottom. (optional step)

Step 5. Add a small section divider by cutting a piece of River Rock plain card stock 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″.  Score @ 2″, 3″ and 4″.  Fold in half on the center fold and then fold on the remaining two score line back in the opposite direction.  You are forming a “w” shape.  Use the bone folder to make crisp folds.

Add the insert to the completed box bottom.

Step 6. Stamp the Bear image on a cork sheet and the Smore’ image River Rock plain card stock.  Use Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Bravo Burgundy Classic ink to watercolor the areas of the image.  Add Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter on the marshmallow for a fun look.  Trim out image with paper snips.

Step 7. Cut another piece of card stock in River Rock and repeat the same scoring, folding and assembly process as shown in Step 1.  Stamp a fun image on the two sides as shown below.

In this example below, I used the mosquito image from my Skeeters Stampin’ Wheel and Crumb Cake Classic Ink and filled in the wings with a Baja Breeze Stampin Write Marker and Aqua Painter.

Step 8.  Take a post-it note and center in on the inside of the box top.  Trace the shape with a pencil and remover the note.  Using a craft knife cut around all four edges and remove the square of card stock.  Cut a piece of Window Sheet  3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″.  Add Sticky Strip on all four edges of the Window Sheet and adhere to the box top on the INSIDE.  Press to secure.  Now you have a fun window so your treat box shows the goodies inside!

Complete box assembly as shown in Steps 2-3.

***Note***

For ease in closing the box and a nice decorative touch I made the corner flaps adhered on the OUTSIDE instead of the inside like the bottom.

Step 9.  Stamp bear image onto cork paper with Basic Black Classic Ink.  Color in areas with the Aqua Painter.

Step 10.  Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the stamped images and place on the box top as shown.   I also added a torn piece of Bravo Burgundy card stock across the bottom edge of the box prior to adding the bear and s’more.

Step 10.  Fill the box with Cinnamon Sugar Graham Crackers, two marshmallows (inside a small cello bag and sealed) and two mini Hersey’s chocolate bars.  Tie the hemp twine diagonally around two corners, stamp a fun sentiments and attach to the tied twine.  Makes a super cute gift!
