We are receiving our first snowfall of the year in our area and I felt this project was quite appropriate for the situation.
I made these little gifts last year for friends and family and I received such a great response that I decided to make the exact ones again this year! I love the color combination of Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink ink and card stock in this design.
The stamp set used in this picture is from the Snow Buddies (Hostess Level 2) stamp set using my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for perfect placement . Unfortunately this set is unavailable now since it was from the 2009-2010 Holiday Mini Catalog. Stampin’ Up! has many other images that would be perfect for this design such as the snowman image from the Jolly Old Saint Nick set on page 26 of the current 2010-2011 Holiday Mini Catalog. Please check it out…. he’s adorable!
I wanted a simple look so that the contents of the “soup” was the focal point of the gift. I used a light touch of Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Pastels for the hats and scarves. The images are inked with Chocolate Chip Classic ink and I added touches of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter for a glimmer.
I love the Sizzix Flower Daisies #2 die so I added this cute flower at the top of the bag. Add a pice of Specialty Designer Series Paper along with a fun button and snowflake die cut for the center.
I added this poem by printing it onto Whisper White card stock and matting with Pretty in Pink cardstock. I used my sponge dauber and lightly chalked throughout the poem with Pretty in Pink also.
I filled my gifts with iridescent clear filler and added it to the bottom of the cellophane bag before assembling the ingredients.
I’m sure this idea would work just as well with Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip also. My second favorite color combination 🙂
Keep warm everyone and enjoy come cocoa today!
