Fun Paper Flowers

Wow, I can’t tell you how much I love my Bloom Builders #2 steel die from Papertrey Ink!  Making these flowers are quite addicting:)

I used the Poppy Parade card stock and Designer Series Papers from Stampin’ Up! on these little cuties.  Just vary the centers and the effects are endless.

I used the middle and small size petals for this sample.  They nest perfectly within each other.  Add just a touch of glue and they are super secure for any card, scrapbook or altered item.

I inked the edges of each flower petal with Whisper White craft ink on this sample.  I am currently experimenting with other colors.  For more samples please check on my Etsy shop.  I will have more color ideas to share there soon.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to today’s Blog Hop!  I hope you are enjoying all the great projects from Papertrey customers.  If you have arrived here mid hop and want to start at the beginning just begin here to start with the first creation.  The challenge is to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way on a project.

Since I am “knot” going to miss winter and am anxiously awaiting some spring weather I decided to do french knots for my embroidery floss technique on this fun spring themed card.

I used Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Whisper White textured card stock from Stampin’ Up!  The butterfly images are from the stamp set Flight of the Butterfly.

I stamped four images onto the card stock using white craft ink skewing the images toward the left to leave room for the white organza ribbon .

I chose four colors of embroidery floss.  I poked holes through each dot with the needle and made french knots in each one.

I added the antennas with white embroidery floss and a mini pearl for the butterfly heads.  I also outlined the butterflies with a glue pen and iridescent glitter.

For the simple dimensional butterfly in this picture I took white vellum and the very versatile Papertrey Ink steel Bloom Builder #2 steel die.  I used the medium and small size die, trimming off the bottom tips.  Using clear glue dots, I just layered the petals after stamping them with the same white craft ink and stamp image.  Who says this die is just for flowers.  Awesome die design Papertrey Ink!

I hope you enjoyed my project today.  Comments are very much appreciated:)
