The gate fold design is the 1st page in this album. It reminds me of an entrance to a building so I continued on with that thought in mind when designing.
I cut two strips of patterned paper1″ x 4″ and scored them at 1/2″,3/4″, 1-1/2″, 1-3/4″, 2-1/4″, 2-1/2″, 3-1/4″, 3-1/2″ and 4″ folding each piece on the score lines and inking around the edges with the Tea Dye Distress Ink.
I added Score Tape onto the parts of the pleated paper that will touch my page (left, center and right side). I secured these strips to the bottom of my gate fold page centering from top to bottom.
Time for a mystical tag and a place for journaling on the back. I found some great labels on Flickr in Love Manor. These labels have been made for all of us to use on our projects. How nice of Love Manor to provide such gorgeous images! I chose the Moon Dust image and printed it out onto patterned paper. I trimmed around the tag leaving a small edge of patterned paper. I then used the same Tea Dye Distress Ink and inked around the edges. I moved my blending tool farther into the image in some areas so the look is not to uniform on the edges.
I inked up a small background stamp from Stampin’ Up! using green ink. I blotted areas of the stamp with a paper towel to lighten some of the inked areas on the stamp.
I stamped on Whisper White card stock from Stampin’ Up!
I adhered both layers together back to back and trimmed around the edges. Again I distressed with ink to match the front. This makes a great spot for journaling!
I layered some Idea-ology flowers together and added a matching rhinestone onto the top of the brad that holds the flower layers together. Hot glue held this embellishment onto the top of the tag. I also added a few spritz of Perfect Pearls to the front of the tag and then added some Stickles dots on the corners. The edge of the scissors blade distresses the tag edges perfectly.
My final tag turned out really cute.
I hot glued the left side of the key lock to the left side of the gate fold page. This embellishment was distressed at the same time as the key using the same steps. I added two clear rhinestones onto the front where the brads would go.
I took a small piece of gauze and inked part of it with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I glued it to the upper left hand corner and added the small green sticker heart from the collection. The edges of the heart are also inked.
I mixed up some Moon Dust for my Tim Holtz mini vial using mica flakes and gold glitter. I also glued in the cork so no “dust” would spill unexpectedly.
I hot glued it next to my heart embellishment. This leaves the pocket below empty for a piece of memorabilia or tag/photo.
I cut out the second smallest shape from the Nestabilities Peony die set out of the purple patterned paper. I used the poison bottle rub on for a small embellishment to the inside of the page. I really like the images on the papers for the inside so I did not want to cover up too much. This area can be used for a large photo and two small photos or photo and some journaling.
I added 3 Stampin Dimensionals to the back and secured it onto the page.
This is the finished front of the gate fold page 1.
Please stop back for page 2 and 3.
