It’s a Pine Cone Kind of Day

Now that Thanksgiving is almost upon us here in the United States, I have been thinking about my winter projects.  I really like nature and mini albums so I am in the process of making a TREE Mini Album using the Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium paper.  Even though it is more Christmas themed, I wanted to also add some stamping that will highlight the pine tree and pine cone images too.  To bring the entire album together I added these dimensional pine cones on my cover.  I will post the completed album soon but I thought I would share my cover embellishments with you today.

These are my paper pine cones using the McGill punches and directions.  Wow I am hooked!

They are quite realistic I think.  These are great using patterned paper and plain or textured card stock.

The card stock color in this photo is from Stampin’ Up!.  It is Soft Suede and then I inked the edges with Early Espresso Classic Ink also from Stampin’ Up!

I shaped, pinched and bent each petal individually.

Once all the petals were adhered I dabbed some metallic gold ink on the edges and added a small touch of gold glitter.  Just a perfect finishing touch for my project!

On the pine cone with the patterned paper I added clear glitter from Stampin’ Up!

FYI…..I followed the directions exactly as given however I  did not use the pop dots to adhered the petals.  I think it worked out better for me.  Try making these per the original directions and see what you think.  If you would like to see  how I made these with a minor change (no pop dots) then I would be happy to do a video for you.  Just let me know in the comments section below.

Stampin’ Up! Video Workshops

I have received a few questions from some folks on Stampin’ Up! products.  I am always happy to answer any questions you may have but I began thinking that there may be more than a few of you that might have some questions too!  I have begun filming Stampin’ Up! Video Workshops with specific themes.  I will continue to add videos each month specifically highlighting products I own and can give my review on.

Below is my first informational Stampin’ Up! product video highlighting wood-mount and clear mount stamps.  The video is 25 minutes in length taking you gently through the basic information on these stamps.

Enjoy and I hope you find the tips helpful  🙂
