Hello!
I hope everyone is doing well. I have been doing some reflecting on how blessed I am to have such a wonderful healthy family. The reason is not because it is the new year or that I had a close call with my own health. It is because a friend that I worked with for many years has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy for the next 5 months. I pray she does well with all her treatments and I keep in touch through Facebook. Thank goodness for technology! It makes communicating with people, who live many states away. much easier. Since I can not be there to hold her hand, I decided to set aside some time to hand knit her a soft comfy hat to wear or sleep in during her hair thinning time. I have just completed it and it came out so pretty. I had picked a nice soft turquoise cotton yarn so she would it would be cool and soft against her skin. I chose a pattern that is a very tight knit with a petite little pattern at the brim. I want her to feel beautiful even though her hair will soon be leaving her for a while. Since I have been knitting for a couple of weeks my scrapbooking has taken a back seat but….. I am off to scrapping again!
I finished this album yesterday and just love the Authentique paper collection…..Gorgeous.
I had a lot of fun making my own shabby chic chipboard flowers too. I put some bling for the centers using clear rhinestones and pearls. The closure is a magnet under the pretty Stampin’ Up! vintage button brad.
I used the Tim Holtz Binder Rings for this album.
Each page has room for a photo and also a pocket to add more pictures, journaling or memorabilia.
I matted these pages in a mirror image. I really like this look. The journaling mats are lightly inked using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.
I stamped the hearts and embossed them with clear embossing powder.
I made three pages that pop up and have a hidden spot for journaling or small pictures.
I used the new Martha Stewart heart corner punch for the photo mat on the left.
Another page layout by matting the papers in a mirror image.
I used a Club Scrap stamp under this pop up page. I used Melon Mambo Classic Ink from Stampin’ Up! to match the color in the rose.
I like how nice and flat the book looks when closed. The binder rings leave plenty of room for thick embellishments.
This is the back of the book. I matched the same look with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and clear rhinestone jewels from Stampin’ Up!
