This is the mini album that stores neatly inside the base of the Gravestone project. I designed the door to be ajar so the skeleton hand could appear to be coming out from the inside.
The mini album is made from medium weight chipboard with Tim Holtz large binding rings. I have these binders available for purchase on my Etsy shop. They are hand-made from scratch using professional book binding techniques. I really like how much room there is to add deeper embellishments if you wish and the album still closes neatly.
I did some detail cutting from one of the patterned papers for the poison bottle and adhered it with Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals. The letters R I S K were each individually stamped and then cut out with a circle punch. I distressed the edges and also secured with the Dimensionals.
I used the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Drawer Pulls for the binder.
Mini Album Measurements:
Album – 8 1/2″w x 5 3/4″h x 1 5/8″ d
Inside Base Pages – 6 1/2″w x 4 7/8″h
The paper line used for this project is Mambi Me & My Big Ideas. It has four inside pages with a variety of options for journaling and scrapbooking pictures. The best part is that you can rearrange the pages. I just love the binding rings!
This page is a basic pocket/tag page. It has room on the front and back for photos but also has an additional pull out for photos and journaling. This is the front side.
I added some Perfect Pearls Mists in Kiwi over the top of the patterned paper letting it pool and drip.
This is the back side of Page 1. It has a central mat for a photo. The tab also flips up for more photos or journaling on either side. The “Bewitched” has been adhered with Dimensionals leaving the center area unmounted so the photo can slip under easily.
The back side of the page has a small flap that can be left plain or embellished with papers and small photos. I stamped the spooky tree on the large photo mat leaving the left side for either a small photo or just some journaling about Halloween 2012.
I added patterned paper to both sides of the photo mat pull out and then left one tag plain for journaling.
There is also a hidden pocket on the side for more photo placement or journaling.
The back side of page 4 has a nice simple spot for a photo. I decided to place Mr. Owl on the last page of my album. He looked so majestic. I had to keep the eerie feel so I added a rickety fence in front of him and those piercing purple eyes.
The fence is made with Coordination’s cardstock with Distress Crackle Paint in Clear Rock Candy.
Well that’s it for Halloween 2012. I hope you enjoyed this one …..onto Thanksgiving.
