Happy Easter Everyone!
Last week I made the carrot treat boxes that came in my March The Stamps of Life Card Kit that I showed in my unboxing video here.  There is a giveaway hidden inside that video if you are interested :-).  The treat boxes are for my grandson for Easter so I made them a little more rustic in style.  I didn’t think he wanted a lot of pink and purple but all the papers in this kit are amazing with those gorgeous spring colors.  Below are my steps to create them.
I decided to line the “carrot top” with the green and white striped paper. Â I cut a strip just larger than the size I needed, turned the paper over and traced around the shape with a pencil. Â I did this twice for each side of the box.
I cut around my trace lines using my craft knife but scissors work just as well. Â It’s up to you what you use per your comfort level.
I inked the edges using Old Olive Stampin’ Up! ink.
I used Glossy Accents to adhere the paper to the acrylic box.
When it is completely dry the glue doesn’t show.
I cut a strip of this paper highlighting the colors I thought my grandson would like. Â The two rows of polka dots were the perfect width for this box. Â Not too overwhelming so the goodies would still show through.
I added two strips of Scor-tape to the back of the paper. Â I applied it to all 4 sides of the carrot, lining it up with the previous side and trimming to size with my craft knife.
This is the final look for the trim.
I wanted to add a little tag that had a little boy look so I used one of the shapes from my Stampin’ Up! Chalk Talk dies and an old stamp set I had with a caterpillar. Â It’s a cute spring look for a boy theme I think.
I used white ink and the stamp set from the same card kit for the title.
I thought the caterpillar needs a little green so I added some Stickles.
This is the finished box.  It’s super cute in person 🙂
Wishing you a great day!
